The California Sea Otter Fund received just over $245,000 from generous California taxpayers for 2009, which kept it on the form in 2010! We need your help to contribute to the Fund in 2010 to keep it on the 2011 Tax Forms.
In the Field
Defenders of Wildlife is working directly on sea otter recovery efforts in California, Washington and Alaska.
Management and Policy
Sea otters were hunted to the brink of extinction, now they occupy only portions of their former range. Defenders advocates for management and policy that will effectively recover populations of sea otters in their current range.
Sea Otter Awareness Week 2010!
Every year, Defenders of Wildlife organizes and promotes Sea Otter Awareness Week to teach people about the integral role that sea otters play in the nearshore marine ecosystem and to promote research and conservation programs. This year’s Sea Otter Awareness Week is from September 26 through October 2, 2010!
