What is a donor-advised fund?

A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is a simple way to set aside money for charitable giving.

You can contribute cash, stocks or other assets to your DAF and may receive a charitable tax deduction when you make the contribution. The funds can then be invested and grow tax-free until you’re ready to support the causes you care about.

When the time is right, you simply recommend a grant (gift) from your DAF to an eligible nonprofit, like Defenders of Wildlife.
