Erin Lieberman, Policy Analyst: National Renewable Energy

As the Western Policy Advisor, Erin plays a key role in furthering Defenders' work on renewable energy issues throughout the West, collaborating with our field offices on national renewable energy policy issues, and strengthening Defenders' working relationships with various stakeholders in the region, including conservation partners, federal agencies, and project developers. Erin transitioned into this role following two and half years as the National Renewable Energy Policy Analyst in Washington, D.C., where she played a critical role in the organization’s efforts to develop national policy recommendations for solar, wind, and western transmission. From 2009 to 2010, she served as Defenders’ Federal Lands and Energy Associate, assisting with the development of our federal lands and energy program with an emphasis on policy issues affecting the National Forest System and the Bureau of Land Management’s National System of Public Lands.

Erin joined Defenders in 2007 as the Walter Kuhlmann Environmental Law Fellow. Erin received her undergraduate degree in 2001 from the University of California, Berkeley, where she majored in Conservation and Resource Studies, and her J.D., Order of St. Ives, at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2007.

Erin is a member of the Colorado Bar.
