Suggest a Project for the Wildlife Volunteer Corps

Who Can Suggest a Project?

Priority will be given to staff at state or national wildlife agencies and land trusts, but anyone can suggest a project that will contribute to endangered species recovery.

Help us spread the word about the Wildlife Volunteer Corps program by posting our Wildlife Volunteer Corps Flyer.

What Others Are Saying

“One person can only do so much, but a group of dedicated individuals can really make a significant impact. It is this camaraderie, idealism and spirit that really make a project.”

Project Guidelines

If you could use our volunteers' help on a wildlife or habitat restoration project, please follow the instructions below to suggest a project.

Please note: Due to limited resources, Defenders will not be able to get involved in every project requested.

Special preference is given to volunteer projects that:

  • Are requested by national, state and local wildlife and habitat agencies, land trusts;
  • Are directly tied to Defenders’ work to protect endangered and imperiled species and habitats;
  • Educate local communities about environmental and wildlife conservation issues; and
  • Will provide a fun and fulfilling experience for our members and activists.

Our past project section may help you get a better sense of the projects the Wildlife Volunteer Corps has supported.
