Wildlife Volunteer Corps Project in South Dakota

May 13, 2008

9am - 4pm

Conata Basin

Wall, SD

We will install portable electric fence on National Grassland property in Conata Basin. The purpose is to keep livestock out of boundary areas next to private land. This will allow grass to grow tall and prevent prairie dogs from spreading onto private land, thereby preventing prairie dog poisoning. This will also benefit the black-footed ferret recovery effort by reducing conflicts with neighbors.
