John brings strong outreach, organizing, strategic planning, and scientific skills through his work on a range of issues including endangered species, salmon management, and wilderness protection campaigns. He has a graduate degree in natural resource policy and planning from the University of Michigan and has strong connections with nontraditional allies including faith groups, labor organizations, hunters, agriculture, and businesses. He is also an excellent writer and has worked as a congressional liaison and political campaign coordinator. He shares our passion for wolves and has been working to help protect them since his time in Alaska in the 1980s. John will help us implement our plan to improve the public and political perception of wolves and mobilize urban activists to become more vocal in support of wolves in Washington State, where he has been a long time resident and activist.
