Southern California Forest Plans Challenge
Date Filed: 8/14/2008
Case Status: Active
Center for Biological Diversity v. US Fish and Wildlife Service
In June 2009, Defenders and the Center for Biological Diversity successfully challenged the biological opinions for the Angeles, Cleveland, Los Padres, and San Bernardino National Forests, in Southern California for their failure to include Incidental Take Statements providing for monitoring and mitigation of impacts to endangered species on these national forests. While the court originally granted our requested remedy in June 2011, the government has continued to delay completion of new biological opinions and the required Incidental Take Statements.
