The paper provides a comprehensive assessment of the economic benefits and costs associated with the reintroduction in 1998 of Mexican gray wolves to Arizona and New Mexico. Among other things, the paper applies observed and stated willingness to pay approaches to generate estimates of the value that local and out-of-area residents assign to wolf reintroduction.
