Imperiled and Endangered Species
Defenders has been a long standing leader in large carnivore conservation including wolves, grizzly bears and jaguars. By protecting and restoring these species, a host of other creatures that share the same habitat also benefit.
But Defenders also directly works to protect mid-size carnivores and other imperiled and endangered wildlife. We’ve helped reintroduce and provide on the ground protection for swift foxes, wolverines, bobcats, lynx, river otters, fishers, prairie dogs, black footed ferrets, and bison.
