Take Action for Florida Panthers

There are so many ways to help protect Florida’s panthers from habitat destruction, vehicle collisions, and human interactions.  Please take action in one or more of the following ways.

Join Defenders Environmental Network

Get free wildlife updates, including alerts that inform you how to take action for the Florida Panther.

Scientists

Sign a letter in support of scientific integrity in policy, several groups have letters that you can sign to show your support, these include: Union of Concerned Scientists, ScienceInPolicy.org, and The Florida Panther Society, Inc.

Support Land Conservation

Support wild and rural land conservation, and public and private land management practices that emphasize biodiversity. Landowners should learn about tax incentive programs to preserve habitat when you preserve your land for wildlife and habitat.

Send a Letter to the US Fish and Wildlife Service

Tell the US Fish and Wildlife Service that you support panther recovery and Reintroduction. Write to:

Send a Letter to the Florida Department of Transportation

Write the Florida Department of Transportation and encourage the FL DOT to incorporate wildlife conservation into transportation planning.

Order A Panther Plate

Florida residents can order a special panther license plate. Since 1993, over $30 million in proceeds from the panther plate have been raised for the Florida Panther Research and Management Trust Fund and the Florida Communities Trust Fund.
