Eco-labeling

Defenders supports eco-labeling efforts linked to sustainable agriculture as another market-based incentive for encouraging biodiversity conservation.

Projects

Potato growers certified under the Wisconsin Healthy Grown Potatoes® label use reduced levels of toxic pesticides and restore native ecosystems as a part of their production and landscape management methods. Defenders of Wildlife is supporting Wisconsin Healthy Grown producers’ efforts to restore and conservation native ecosystems for at-risk species by helping them market their produce and estimate the economic benefits of their restoration efforts.
