Defenders of Wildlife v. U.S. Border Patrol et al.
Litigation to compel the Border Patrol and Department of Homeland Security to release documents responsive to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. Under the FOIA, Defenders requested documents from the Border Patrol’s Tucson and Yuma sector field offices relating to the recently announced Arizona Border Control initiative, as well as evidence of compliance with environmental laws such as the ESA, the National Environmental Policy Act, and recent correspondence with federal land management agencies and Congressional representatives.
