Southern California Forest Plans Challenge
Date Filed: 08/14/2008
Case Status: Active
Center for Biological Diversity v. Bosworth
Litigation against the U.S.D.A. Forest Service challenging its April 2006
adoption of the revised Forest Plans for the Angeles, Cleveland, Los
Padres, and San Bernardino Forests in Southern California. Extending
from Big Sur in the north to the Mexican border in the south, these
forests are biodiversity hotspots home to numerous threatened,
endangered and sensitive species. Defenders seeks to protect these
resources from the ongoing attempts of the Forest Service to prioritize
development over conservation in these national forests.
