Dolphin-Safe Tuna

The dolphin-safe label was originally adopted to stop the fishing industry's deadly practice of setting nets on dolphins to get at the tuna that swim below. Since the dolphin-safe label for tuna cans and pouches was created in 1990, dolphin deaths have dropped by 90 percent.


Mercury in Tuna

Defenders' ground-breaking study shows that the FDA and EPA's light canned tuna recommendations do not adequately protect the American public from high levels of mercury.
