There are many things you can do to get involved at the personal, local, state and even national level. Everything you need is right in front of you. Here are some tools to get you started:

Send a Letter: A sample letter to Your State Department of Transportation (DOT) Encouraging your state DOT to incorporate wildlife conservation into transportation planning.

Suggest a Resource: Do you know of a good website, article, paper, newsletter, listserve, book, event or organization that would be of interest to the Habitat & Highways campaign? Please send your suggestions to highways@defenders.org

Tell Us About It: Do you know of existing roads or planned transportation projects in your state that may have an impact on wildlife, either negative or positive? If so, send us an e-mail with the details.

Toot Your Own Horn: Have you taken action to protect wildlife and habitat from a destructive road? Write a letter? Make a call? Tell us about it!
