Areas of expertise: Offshore Oil/Gas Drilling, Habitat for Bears Campaign/Kids for Cubs Training Program Coordinator, Education and Outreach support, Living With Wildlife Program, Volunteer coordination Shannon manages office services that support the program and operations of the Florida Program Office. Her core programmatic issues include Offshore Oil and Gas Drilling, Habitat for Bears Campaign, Living with Wildlife Outreach, Event and Volunteer coordination. Before joining Defenders of Wildlife in 2009, Shannon gained years of executive level administrative experience, GIS skills utilized while working for the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, and several years of volunteer service where she shouldered training and education, fundraising, data collection and hands on care for a wildlife rehabilitation facility. Wildlife rehabilitation included traveling to Spain after the Prestige oil spill in 2002 where she volunteered at an oiled seabird rescue hospital. Shannon has a B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of South Florida.
