Defenders Names Fascione V.P. For Species Conservation
"We are very fortunate to have someone who is as dedicated and passionate about wildlife conservation as Nina," says Defenders of Wildlife President Rodger Schlickeisen, "She is a natural choice for this position and we are anticipating even more great things from her."
While with Defenders, she has held several positions in the species conservation department which have allowed her to spearhead Defenders’ wolf conservation work and push for the reintroduction of wolves in the Northeast, as well as organize Defenders’ successful carnivore conferences.
As vice president of species conservation, Fascione has plans for more work to reduce conflicts between livestock producers and carnivores and would like to build on the successful Defenders program Save Something Wild, which helps to restore species that have been eliminated from their habitats.
A published author and distinguished speaker with a master’s degree in conservation anthropology, Fascione is a nationally-recognized expert on wildlife conservation.
