"Defenders of Wildlife has worked for years to protect the wolf and reintroduce these magnificent creatures into the wild. We are proud to work with the Endangered Species Chocolate Company," says Rodger Schlickeisen, President of Defenders of Wildlife. "The partnership between Defenders andthis company should bring sweet success to this important cause of protecting wolves."
The Endangered Species Chocolate Company is donating 10 percent of all profits from the Yellowstone Wolf Bar to protect the wolves from imminent death. The bars will be sold in various health food stores and outdoor equipment stores across the country. The chocolate bar also contains information for purchasers to join Defenders and continue the important effort to protect species and their habitats.
The American Fam Bureau Federation won a federal court ruling ordering the removal of the reintroduced wolves and their offspring. Defenders is appealing the decision which amounts to a death sentence because there is no place for the wolves to go.
"The Endangered Species Chocolate Company believes in the protection of animals around the world," said Jon Stocking, founder and executive director of the company. "If we save the habitat, we save the species."
