Legal Internships

This position is responsible for providing support to the Fundraising Database Director and the VP, Information Services and CIO. The database processing assistant is responsible for producing and maintaining standing reports, a calendar of recurring tasks, keeping up to date documentation on all jobs
The Digital Copywriter is responsible for drafting and editing online fundraising copy, primarily promoted via email, as well as engagement content on, our blog and Defenders’ social media channels.
This position has lead responsibility for the strategic growth and expansion of Defenders’ relationships with a diverse coalition of organizations and individuals interested in wildlife conservation, outdoor recreation, and protection of environmental quality in North America.
The internship is an opportunity for a college or post-graduate student to work one-on-one with our Conservation GIS Analyst in Washington, DC along with other Defenders staff.
This position is designed to provide a wide range of legal experience relating to conservation issues of national significance, encompassing both litigation and policy advocacy on issues ranging from terrestrial and marine species conservation to federal lands management.
This professional-level position is responsible for conducting complex policy research and analysis and developing information to further Defender of Wildlife’s strategic habitat and species conservation goals on the National Wildlife Refuge System.
The internship is designed to provide a wide range of administrative and programmatic experience on international conservation issues of national significance. The intern will be expected to provide research, writing, and general support for our primary international projects.
This professional-level position is responsible for developing, overseeing, and implementing assigned Defenders’ strategic plan conservation objectives and strategies in the Northwest, with a focus on imperiled and other key species and sustainable public lands management.
This position requires working knowledge of federal environmental and natural resources law and significant litigation experience.
