Endangered Species Act

Endangered Species Act (ESA): Two populations of bighorn sheep are listed as endangered under the federal Endangered Species Act: the Sierra Nevada bighorn sheep and the peninsular bighorn sheep, the latter of which is a distinct population segment of the desert bighorn sheep. Other populations of bighorn sheep are listed as a species of concern.
