Gina L. LaRocco
Conservation Program Associate
Areas of Expertise: Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act, natural resources law, federal public lands issues, conservation policy, ecosystem marketplace, Conservation Registry
Gina is a conservation program associate in Defenders of Wildlife’s Northwest office. She is working to develop market-based conservation incentives, with an eye toward improving the ecological and economic benefits of mitigation programs. She is also the project manager for the Conservation Registry that will record, track and map conservation actions across the landscape.
Prior to her role in Defenders’ Northwest office, Gina worked as a staff attorney in Defenders’ New Mexico office. She worked extensively on species and habitat issues in relation to oil and gas development and other uses on federal public lands, as well as state-based conservation issues.
Gina earned her B.A. from Loyola University of Chicago and Master of Studies in Environmental Law and J.D., cum laude, from Vermont Law School.
